In partnership with Operation Interdependence and the City of Houston Office of Veteran Affairs, Council Member Ed Gonzalez will kick off the 1st Annual District H Troop Drive on Wednesday, November 9 at the City Hall Rotunda. The Troop Drive will collect small items at multiple Kroger and Walgreens locations throughout District H.
Our service men and women will receive a taste of home just in time for the Christmas Holiday. Council Member Gonzalez has also teamed up with nineteen District H Elementary Schools to make sure each service member receives a card with their packages, each created by a talented young student.
“I am honored to show our sincere appreciation to the men and women that serve our Country overseas. Our Nation is great today because of the sacrifices our service members in the Armed Forces, as well as their families, make every single day. I look forward to a successful Troop Drive and hope to see all of our friends and neighbors participate” remarked Vice Mayor Pro-Tem Gonzalez.
