Congratulations to the Houston Dynamo, MLS Eastern Conference champions as they prepare to compete for their 3rd MLS Cup on Sunday in Los Angeles. The Annual District H Troop Drive continues this week; there are 7 drop off boxes throughout District H and 1 here at the City Hall Annex. Our team is collecting basic goods to send to our brave men and women overseas in time for the Christmas Holiday. Beef jerky, peanut butter crackers, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste are some key items that will make a big difference to our troops on the front lines. Congratulations to Booker T. Washington High School which was recognized as a significant part of Texas history and awarded a Historical Marker over the weekend. The Booker T. Washington Alumni Association worked extremely hard to make this dedication happen and I appreciate their efforts and thank them for their commitment to this wonderful school.
