Council Member

Ed Gonzalez was elected to his first Houston City Council term in 2009. The councilman is assigned to committees that help him improve public safety, neighborhood protection, education, and quality of life for his neighbors.

Edʼs committee assignments include Budget and Fiscal Affairs, Public Safety and Homeland Security and Transportation, Infrastructure and Aviation. Ed was named vice chair for both the Public Safety Committee and for the Flooding and Drainage Committees.
Ed was selected to serve as Vice Mayor Pro Tem when council responsibilities and committee assignments were made in January 2010.

Those committee assignments of interest to Ed’s district neighbors and business owners also include Development and Regulatory Affairs, Neighborhood Protection and Quality of Life as well as Small Contractor Development.
