Ed and his wife, Dr. Melissa Gonzalez, live with their daughters in Lindale Park and are members of St. Patrickʼs Catholic Church.
Volunteer public service has been a major part of Ed’s life for years. Crime and juvenile issues were a focus of several public service committees he served on before his election to the city council. He also was a Gulf Coast Community Services Association (GCCSA) board member, helping families by administering Head Start and Early Head Start programs in the area. He has served on several boards and is an active participant in numerous community-based initiatives. Ed is also a graduate of Leadership Houston Class XXIII, Project Blueprint (United Way), and the American Leadership Forum.
