Infrastructure

Ed serves in a leadership role on the Houston City Council Transportation, Infrastructure and Aviation Committee.  As Vice-Chair, he deals with matters related to ground transportation and mobility, freight and passenger rail, management of public utilities and right-of-way infrastructure; and matters relating to the Houston Airport System.

Ed is proud to have helped facilitate a number of District H street improvements, and will work closely on the 2011 Overlays scheduled for Airline, Shepherd/Durham, Yale, Navigation, Jensen, Lockwood, and Washington Avenue. He has worked closely with METRO to ensure that disruption resulting from rail line construction in the two corridors located in the District is minimal.

Perhaps the most exciting, and challenging task for the Committee has been to oversee the City’s transition to a data driven process for transportation policy decision making. Long overdue, the new approach should result in more efficient operation and provide an effective basis for establishing priorities.
