This week, Mayor Annise Parker and Police Chief Charles McClelland unveiled City of Houston crime statistics that showed an 8% overall drop in crime in our city during their tenure. District H Troop Drive Begins!

As we anticipate the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, the District H team is proud to announce our 2nd Annual Troop Drive in partnership with Operation Interdependence and the City of Houston’s Office of Veteran Affairs. Starting today and running through November 30th, we will be working with select Kroger and Walgreens stores in District H to collect goods to send to our active military members overseas. Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, a city jewel located in Houston’s 2nd Ward, will mark a century of hope, faith, and love this Saturday when it celebrates the anniversary of the church’s very first mass which took place on August 18, 1912. Council Member Gonzalez has been quite vocal about his long-term goals to make Houston an international hub for the creative community. That’s why he recently proposed the creation of The Innovation and Technology Advisory Board.

Citizens Gather for District H Town Hall Meeting

Council Member Gonzalez recently hosted a town hall meeting to address citizens’ traffic concerns at the McGallion and Bauman intersections. Temporary solutions had been tested prior to the meeting, but it had become clear that a permanent fix was in order.
